The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. This is an international body based in the United States, founded in 1996, dedicated to the sport of Defensive Pistol Shooting and the promotion of safety and standards.
IDPA Trinidad is a charter member of the International Defensive Pistol Association of America and is the local arm of IDPA in Trinidad. The organization functions under three sub-divisions, the Administrative body, a National Sporting Organization approved by the Ministry of Sports and a Shooting Club or training arm of IDPA. We are a registered non-profit sporting organization approved by the Commissioner of Police as a Certified Firearms Training Institution with permission to conduct weapons training for citizens of Trinidad & Tobago who posses the necessary FUL/FUEC.
